5th FFFA – watch this space for Awards Presentation update!
With judging completed in the 2020 FreeFrom Food Awards Ireland, we are working hard in the background to arrange a covid restriction appropriate Awards Presentation. Several attempts have been scuppered by increased restrictions, which is par for the course in this very unexpected year we are all experiencing.
Regardless, everyone wants to know – who has won what! And we want to tell you. We have two scenarios in the pipeline and we hope to know in the coming days which we can go with – a small, socially distant, live awards evening, or a completely online, virtual event.
We will be guided by the government decisions forthcoming and be in touch with all our entrants and judges as soon as we have confirmation of what’s allowed. We are very excited to announce our winners – keep watching this space! It won’t be long now!

FreeFrom Food Awards 2019 – Round-up
What an incredible night we had at the 4th FreeFrom Food Awards Ireland Gala Presentation Night, on Friday 10th May, 2019. We are absolutely thrilled by the support of all our entrants, judges, sponsors, partners and friends. Our Winner’s List is below on this page. We call on the freefrom community to support the fantastic producers who are growing and developing freefrom.
Congratulations to Tesco Ireland for taking Product Range of the Year for the THIRD year in a row – talk about raising the gauntlet. They also took Product of the Year for their Choc Sticks which are delicious and extraordinarily freefrom gluten and milk – considering they are a chocolate “ice-cream” bar! Congratulations to Special Services to the Industry recipient, Mary McDonagh-Faherty, who is the admin on facebook of the support page, Coeliac Parents Ireland – she voluntarily runs this page and ensures that parents are getting the right information to keep their coeliac kids healthy.
Innovation Awards were taken by 9 White Deer for their gluten-free range, Maria Lucia Bakes for her Oat free porridge, Promise Gluten Free for their baked in store range and once again Tesco, along with Bute Island for their milk and gluten free soft cheese alternative.
Thanks to our Media Partner Irish Examiner and to our sponsors Juvela, Gluten Free Ireland, Healthpro, Clear Designs, Maria McHale, Express PR and to our special friends and colleagues in the UK FreeFrom Food Awards. Also much appreciation to our Judges without whom we could not achieve such wonderful things! Here’s to a thriving freefrom industry and as our first Kids’ Chair, Lucy put it to producers on Friday evening in a rousing speech, ‘Freefrom children are the future consumers’ – let’s keep it growing!
The FreeFrom Food Awards Ireland were launched in 2015 by a highly dedicated team of food lovers, who have an in-depth and specialist knowledge of the FreeFrom Food marketplace.
Having just complete year 4 – our goal is to recognise, encourage and reward the achievements of producers and the excellence of their products.
The FreeFrom Food Awards Ireland were founded by John Burke – a lifelong Coeliac and veteran judge of the FreeFrom Food Awards in the UK.
John is also a judge of the FreeFrom Eating Out Awards in the UK. John is a former judge of The Irish Quality Food Awards ‘Q’ (FreeFrom category), The IQDrinkAs and The ICafeQFAs.
"Juvela are delighted to continue our association with the annual FreeFrom Food Awards Ireland. This award programme goes from strength to strength highlighting the excellent quality and impressive range of diverse entries that go before the judges every year. Our sponsorship of the award for Services to the Industry allows us to highlight the input and dedication of people in the FreeFrom arena, where we ourselves are a stalwart brand for over 25 years. We look forward to once again sponsoring this important award for the freefrom community in the 2019 FreeFrom Food Awards Ireland."
